Legislation

Buildings and structures must comply with the performance requirements of the BCA. The performance requirements of Volume 2 of the BCA that address structural stability and resistance to actions are contained in P2.1.
Structural plywood that complies with AS/NZS 2269:2004 Plywood – Structural satisfies P2.1. AS/NZS 2269:2004 specifies requirements for the manufacture, grading, finishing and branding of structural plywood as well as the bonding (refer to clause 3.3) between plies.

The new Modern Homes energy efficiency standards will commence on 1 May 2024.

New Modern Homes standards

The National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 commenced on 1 May 2023. In Queensland, the Modern Homes standards included in NCC 2022 will be introduced in a phased approach: The new Modern Homes accessibility standards will be phased in from 1 October 2023. The new Modern Homes energy efficiency standards will commence on 1 May 2024.
